Pierre d'Avesn. Art deco vase

Pierre Gire (1901-1990) with the artistic pseudonym Pierre d'Avesn was a master genius within his genre. At the age of just 14, he was employed by the undisputed master glass artist of them all, René Lalique. Upon hiring, Lalique purchased the copyright to all of d'Avesn's designs, illustrating the accomplishments and work skills d'Avesn demonstrated from a very early age. Designers at Lalique were not allowed to sign their own designs. During the 10 years D'Avesn worked for Lalique, he designed some of their best-known works.
